Moroccan Antiques, Marrakech.
The oldest and most established antique shop in Marrakech Medina is La Porte D’Or, now spanning three generations in the same family. This is a veritable Aladdin’s cave of antiquities gathered over their long history of collecting pieces not only here in Morocco but also from other neighbouring countries.
Set around this old riad, just off the main souk Semmarine you will always find the most amazing pieces, tasteful and in the best condition, orientalist art work, old doors, carpets, furniture, lighting and pottery. They have been the main attraction for any serious collectors of Islamic and Jewish artifacts for many years now.
With a wall of photos of jet set clientele, La Porte D’or is not to be missed even if its just to spend some time browsing this who’s who of visitors to Marrakech.
