I love Moroccan Artisana and one of my favorite places is Ateilier Nihal  where you can discover an ancient Marrakchi tradition being re vamped. Marrakech and it surrounding areas has always had a rich tradition in weaving. The Marrakchis make fantastic wool carpets, silk and wool fabrics, baskets from sea-grass products.

The Atelier Nihal have adapted the local skills and moved with the times and are now producing fantastic cushions, throws, bag’s, boxes and lampshades. Using beautiful fabric combination’s of   leather, wool, bead’s taffeta’s and organza, in modern contemporary shapes and styles. All hand woven on looms by skilled Marrakchi craftsman.

The company is run by the talented Marion and Lauren Verdier who have designed all of the beautiful woven patterns and put them together in tasteful classic colour schemes. My favorite is the leather taffta combination.

Their show room is based at No 366 Q.I Sidi ghanem in the industrial area on the outskirts of Marrakech.
